My
name is Paul Becker, and I am the current Unlimited Light champion here
in the States. I am pushing the boundaries of old age and good sense
(Delta Airline captain with just a few years to retirement), and have
therefore decided to sell the UL-1 hull which is GP ready. The hull was
built by Jamie Auld in the late nineties and was out of action for
several years, stored in a warehouse until I purchased it in 2006. It
has a 72 inch tunnel, was originally balsa cored, with an electric wing
and a small fuel cell. The boat has an aggressive forward tunnel break
making it competitive with even the newest designs. I installed a pedal
system for the canard which allows for significantly improved "flying"
control, the boat now has a 26 gallon aluminum fuel cell, and the balsa
tunnel has been replaced by a double thick, super light phenalic resin
based hex board (which is typically used for the decking on the 777
aircraft), making it one of the strongest and fastest hulls out there.
The boat sits on a triple axle, diamond plate aluminum decked trailer
with boxes. Two shafts, three props (14X22, 23, 24), & lotsa spares.
The
boat is available now, and is priced at $65,000 FOB Seattle. I do have
one 468 with custom C&C'ed AFR heads, best of everything else, that
would just need pistons and blower. Also a 511, same deal. Mounts and
oil pumps included.
