7 Times Australian Champion

The legendary Arthur Baker
is proud to announce his return to the world of powerboat racing with the
confirmation today of the acquisition of the world renowned champion GP
Hydroplane G-Force ex Casino De Montreal. Arthur Baker and the Baker Family
have been a part of powerboat racing for in excess of 50 years and it is only
fitting for such a champion of the sport to acquire a true champion of a boat.

Graeme Weller held (all at the same time)
AE Baker Australasian
Hydroplane Trophy
E.C Griffith Cup
Masport Cup and
UIM World GP water speed
record at 172.257mph this is alongside the 3 times World Championships in the
hands of the Jean Theoret.
The key vision for Arthur
and his new team will be to bring back the AE Baker Australasian Hydroplane
Trophy named in his father’s honour from New Zealand. The AE Baker Australasian
Trophy was brought about when around 16 Aussie enthusiasts travelled to New Zealand to watch the
Griffith Cup, and amongst the 16 were race boat legends Ernie Nunn, Arthur
Baker, Keith Swift(APBA Referee) and Marjorie Watson. Whilst on the trip,
Arthur and Marj realised that there were no Australasian Trophies for Unlimited
Hydroplanes and Unlimited Displacement boats. When they came back home, Arthur
established the A.E. Baker Trophy for Hydroplanes and Marj did the same for
Unlimited Displacements with the Marjorie Watson trophy.
Arthur has
confirmed that the Jamie Auld GP Hydroplane will be ready to run in the back
half of 2011. Graeme Weller and his right hand man Kelvin Ranson will be an
integral part of the team’s plans to achieve their goal or bringing back the AE
Baker.
